Want to learn how to make a quilt with an easy online workshop – totally free?
Sign up for Let’s Make a Quilt here. You’ll learn how to get started, the tools and supplies you’ll need, and how to make a quilt from start to finish using Quilt As You Go and applique with fusible adhesive.
It’s the easiest, most fun way to make an applique quilt. You can do it!
I’ve been working on a super fun North Pole quilt by adding a bunch of cute Santa’s Village signs to houses and buildings made with the Shiny Happy Houses quilt pattern.
It’s been so much fun!
Now you can do the same thing!
Get the Shiny Happy Houses quilt pattern here.
Click here to get the free pattern for all the signs – there are 26 – plus a page of blank signs so you can come up with your own fun names. 🙂
The pattern for the signs includes instructions for how I do the lettering. It’s easy!
I wanted everything in my quilt to look like it was made of candy. 🙂 Here are the fabrics I’m using. . .
- Rainbow Sherbet fabric bundle for the background blocks
- Rainbow Bright fat quarter bundles, Little Stripes fat quarter bundles, and Gingham Play fat quarter bundles for the appliques
- Fairy Frost fabric in Snow (a shimmery/sparkly fabric from Michael Miller) for the snowy ground
- A tiny bit of brown fabric (Studio Basic in Taupe from Timeless Treasures) for all the tree trunks
Happy quilting!
so cute 🙂 thank-you. Merry Christmas Wendy !!
Thank you! 🙂
Your creativity is endless. Love your patterns.
Thanks so much! 🙂
Wendi, I can’t open my acct with your forgot password email? Help. I need to see all the patterns I have bought. Is this new for the HOUSE quilt or is it with the same pattern , I think I have bought already. Would like to do this one. Thanks Karen Schletti

I love all of them❣
I love the “Made by Lynn” tree skirt where she used these signage additions to make a giant circular “neighborhood” style houses adaptation. The “neighborhood” (Dresden plate style assembly of wonky wedges) was really popular on Pinterest when it came out and although I made a few of my own they were such a pain and nowhere as easy as your Shiny Happy Houses. The way Lynn made the tree skirt giant sized makes it even easier! Now I might have to make a tree skirt 🙂
I love that project too!!! She did an amazing job!!!
Do you know if Lynn made her tree skirt pattern up herself or used a template from somewhere? Maybe that’s an add-on pattern you need to provide (hint hint LOL)
Such a cute idea. Thanks for sharing
Oh my goodness I can’t wait to get started!
I started by looking at one picture and that was 40 minutes ago. It has been just awesome thank you for such wonderful ideas!!
When I saw this quilt on my email I was instantly attracted by the soft pretty colors you chose for it. I think this is the most adorable happy little Santa Village ever! Thank you for sharing this for us.
