Permissions

All of my patterns, printables, and other artwork are copyrighted.

You may use these designs in any way you like for personal use.

You may not, under any circumstances, copy and resell the pattern.

You may sell things you make with the designs, as long as you are making them one at a time, by yourself.

This permission is intended for cottage industry ONLY.

If you are automating or hiring out any part of the process, please get in touch with me (smile@shinyhappyworld.com) and we’ll work out a fair licensing agreement. That means we’ll talk about how you’re planning to use the design, how many pieces you’re planning to make, and what price you intend to sell them at. We’ll agree on a price to use the artwork that allows both of us to make a profit.

Here are a bunch of examples that clarify what that means. . .

If you want to use one of my applique patterns to make pillows that you sell at a local craft fair, that’s fine as long as you are making them yourself.

If you are hiring someone to stuff the pillows and sew up the opening, then talk to me and we’ll negotiate a fair extended licensing agreement.

If you want to use one of my applique designs to create a design that you paint on tables that you sell, that’s fine – as long as you are painting them yourself.

If you want to embroider one of my designs on shirts that you sell, that’s fine – as long as you are doing the embroidery yourself.

If you want to program your embroidery machine to embroider one of my designs on shirts that you sell, that may require a license. Talk to me and we’ll work out the details.

If you want to purchase fabric from my Spoonflower shop and use it to make things that you sell, that’s fine.

If you want to print my artwork to decorate your child’s room, that’s fine.

If you want to print my artwork and sell it as prints, greeting cards, stickers, etc. – talk to me and we’ll negotiate a fair extended commercial licensing agreement.

You may upload the designs to Print On Demand sites for your own personal use, but not for sale.
